Firefighters shimmed into a tree behind 415 Columbia Rd. around 6 p.m. on Sunday to rescue a man who'd gotten stuck about 25 feet up.
The Boston Fire Department reports the man was cutting a large limb when it snapped back, pinning his hand to the tree. On arrival, firefighters raised Tower Ladder 10 and Ladder 7, climbed up to the tree pruner, put a safety harness around him, sawed off the limb, then got him down for transportation to the hospital for evaluation.
