The City of Boston and Hubway opened the first of ten new bike-share docking stations this week in Dorchester and Roxbury, including one in Bowdoin-Geneva.
Nine of the ten Roxbury and Dorchester stations already are now open for use, with a tenth station still to come in Four Corners.
They new stations are located at: Columbia Road at Ceylon Street; Hamilton Street at Bowdoin Street; Martin Luther King Boulevard at Washington Street; Mt Pleasant Avenue / Dudley Town Common; Roxbury YMCA; Uphams Corner MBTA Stop; Walnut Avenue at Crawford Street; Walnut Avenue at Warren Street; and Washington Street at Melnea Cass Boulevard.
The total number of stations in Boston will reach 125 by the end of 2016, with a total of 1600 bikes in use across Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville.
Qualifying Bostonians can purchase an annual membership for just $5, which comes with a free helmet.
