The public is invited to attend a free celebration of Juneteenth at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts on Wed., June 15. Various works of art such as graffiti, fashion showcases, and performing artists will be showcased starting at 5 p.m.
A highlight of the evening takes place from 7- 8p.m., when the MFA presents "The City Talks: Activate," the latest in a series of free public forums exploring issues related to the exhibition Megacities Asia. The discussion focuses on ways artists use protest as a means for survival and inspiration. Additionally, a performance by artist U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo will take place from 6:45-7pm.
Also, a screening from this year’s Roxbury International Film Festival: Juneteenth Shorts can also be viewed at different times during the event.
