An early-morning fire has caused major damage to a home at 550 Ashmont St. in Dorchester. Firefighters were called to the scene at 2:18 a.m. by a neighbor, according to the BFD's Twitter feed. One resident was safely evacuated. The two-alarm blaze caused an estimated $400,000 in damage to the structure. No injuries were reported.
