The Boston Fire Department reports two adults and two children had to be taken to a local hospital from a fire at 115 Deering Rd. in Mattapan Sunday morning.

The department reports firefighters responded shortly after 10 p.m. to a fire that consumed the house's rear porches and attic.

A total of 17 people were made homeless by the fire, the department says, adding the cause is under investigation.
