The Boston Police Department reports a man was shot at Blue Hill Avenue and Fremont Street around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He was the first murder victim in Boston since a woman was killed in murder-suicide in a Theater District hotel on Feb. 26, and the third this year. Last year at this point, Boston had had 13 murders.
