Tito Jackson will be able to drop the "-elect" tag from his title on Saturday, when he is expected to be sworn in as District Seven's new city councillor.
The swearing-in is scheduled for noon at Hibernian Hall.
Jackson won the March 15 special election with 82 percent of the vote.
Jackson will take the oath of office a day after the man he is replacing, former City Councillor Chuck Turner, is scheduled to report to jail. Turner, who served in the seat for 11 years and has maintained his innocence, was sentenced to three years in prison for accepting a $1,000 bribe and lying to the FBI about it.
The historic Hibernian Hall, built in 1913 and redeveloped in 2005, served as a space for a number of forums during the preliminary and final special election earlier this year.
