Marty Walsh will finish the day with supporters in Southie, watching the Bruins season opener. City Councillor At-Large John Connolly has a mid-day walk through Grove Hall businesses on his agenda. The businesses include Mattapan’s Finest Barber, King and Kueen Salon, and LA Newton School of Beauty Culture.
ARROYO AND BARROS TALK ENDORSEMENTS AND ‘MONOLITHIC’ BOSTON: City Councillor At-Large Felix Arroyo and community activist John Barros both appeared on Boston Public Radio on Wednesday. The two former mayoral candidates said they had spoken as the race started up earlier this year in an attempt to figure out if it made sense for both of them to run. “We thought we had enough space for both of us to run,” Barros said.

Anthony Petruccelli (D-East Boston), who supported District 5 Councillor Rob Consalvo in the mayoral race, is throwing his support behind Rep. Walsh, a former Petruccelli aide, Ed Deveau, tweeted last night. Walsh, a Dorchester lawmaker, has also picked up the endorsement of SEIU 1199, a Dorchester-based union with members who live in the neighborhood, as well as Mattapan and Roxbury.....The polling continues: This time, it’s former state Rep. Marty Walz who was on the phone for 20 minutes last night with Kalamata Research…..Northwind, the firm started by former Deval Patrick aide Doug Rubin, has signed up with Walsh’s campaign, the Globe’s Andrew Ryan tweeted yesterday.....An adviser to Charlotte Golar Richie’s mayoral campaign defends the third-place finish.....Connolly emailed supporters on Wednesday, urging them to sign a petition that would put on the November 2014 ballot a referendum to raise the state minimum wage to $10.50 from $8.
